Originally from Cuba, Illinois, Thomas resides with his family in Atlanta, where they have lived since 1984. He is CEO of Teleologic Learning Company, a firm that designs and creates online training for corporate and government clients. Prior to his tenure with Teleologic, Thomas worked in other education-related positions including as an administrator in the Olympia School District, Associate Dean of Admissions at Eureka College, and teaching positions in northern Illinois.
Thomas’ appointment as Interim Executive Director of the Lincoln/Logan County Development Partnership extends through April 30, 2014. He will lead the Partnership during the next 90 days as it, along with Main Street Lincoln, the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County, and the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce work together to consider each organization’s mission, governance, functions, and responsibilities with the aim of providing more effective and efficient services.
As Interim Executive Director one of Thomas’s first steps will be to establish a set of specific goals and outcomes to be achieved between now and the end of April, designed to ensure progress towards meeting the Partnership’s goals to develop new business, retain current business, and enhance the quality of life in the communities of Logan County.
Chris worked as a Legal Secretary early in her career, then as Human Resources Secretary at Eaton Electrical in Lincoln for 25 years. Following Eaton she was Office Manager for Johnson Brothers Liquors while it was located in Lincoln, then Chris returned to legal offices working as a Legal Assistant. She accepted the position with the Development Partnership in February, 2011.
A former Chicagoan, Chris’ family all are in Lincoln or the immediate vicinity. An active volunteer in the community for many years, she has worked with the Arthritis Foundation as a Certified Arthritis Water Exercise Instructor, United Way of Logan County as Chairman of the Industrial Division and Past President of the Board. Currently a member of the MS Walk Committee, volunteer with the Humane Society on various projects and a member of Zonta International, serving as Scholarship Committee Chair.
